What is it that empowers you most?
Seeing my children happy is empowering to continue what I’m doing as a mother and wife. It’s empowering for me to see something I’ve been putting work and effort into starting to change or become better because of that work. And that’s with anything whether it’s my marriage, friendships, school, blog, or business.

What is it that you love most about yourself?
I am currently working on overcoming sexual abuse so this is an incredibly hard question for me. I am working on loving and valuing myself. The fact that I have come this far after years of abuse and then so many years of hiding it is something I am incredibly proud of.

What makes you feel most beautiful?
I feel most beautiful when I’m in the sun, with my hair up in a bun, and playing with my children. They have a way of getting me to let go of my insecurities and enjoying myself.

Who is your biggest role model and why?
One of my biggest role models is my good friend Tiffany. She works for Chanel (just won rookie of the year), raises 3 kids, is an amazing friend, a great wife, an incredible mother, and does bikini competitions. She always has time for those she loves and will never shy from the truth, even if it’s not easy to tell.

Who are your favourite cultural heroines and why?
I have so many but one that always pops up in my mind is Ruth Bader Ginsburg; who is the second woman with the US Supreme Court Justice. She is a warrior for women and men and as an 85-year-old woman she is not slowing down! Even before she was appointed to the Supreme Court in 1993 she was an advocate for the fair treatment of women and men, as well as cofounding the ACLU’s Women’s Rights Project. She has also gone on record calling Donald Trump a “faker,” which I love, however, she did have to apologize later for publicly commenting on the campaign.

If you could pick one fictional female character to be for a day who would it be and why?
As cliché as this is I would probably pick Hermione Granger from the Harry Potter series. I was a kid when these books came out and I devoured them! I could not get enough of them and having a female character with long crazy hair like I did as a child, who liked to read and was considered smart but still had friends resonated with me.

What is your biggest life goal?
To truly love and value myself. Like I said before, I have some serious self-image issues because of the things I was forced to do/go through at the tender age of 15 and to love myself and think I am worthy would be such an amazing thing. If I could do that I truly believe I could change the lives of other women, which is what I’m going to school for. [Psychology and Women’s Studies]

What is your biggest accomplishment?
I love my boys so much and I feel like I should say it's them but they are their own people because of my husband, family, and everyone else who helps shape them.

So I would have to say going to school as a mom and maintaining a high GPA. I am applying for the University of Berkeley next year and look forward to getting that acceptance letter. I take pride in all the hard work I have put in at school this far and the grades I have received.  I know that after I get into Berkeley, graduate, and get my Masters I will feel even more pride in my accomplishments.

What is your favourite quote?
I have so many and they change regularly. Right now I’m really loving “I’m not a boss bitch. I’m a boss, bitch!”

If you could tell your 12-year-old self one thing what would it be?
The struggles you’re going through with your family do not define you. You will be a stronger person and a better mother. It’s okay to say no to anyone. Never feel like you owe someone simply because you like them, they like you, you flirted, you are together, or whatever other excuses they give you. You can say no and walk away.

Love yourself baby girl, you got this.
