Music of 2018

It’s that time of year I guess and obviously I’m fashionably late to the party with my round up list. Here are my top 30 favourite songs of 2018 and let’s be clear, I did not find all these songs on my own I just have lots of cool friends that know lots of cool music.

Tash Sultana

Tash Sultana is a singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist from Melbourne, Australia. They’re described as a "one-person band" and their hit single "Jungle" spread on social media like wildfire when a bystander posted a video of Sultana busking on a street corner in Australia.

Elley Duhé

American singer-songwriter Elley Duhé was born in Alabama and raised in Mississippi. She gets her musical flair from her musician father and uncles who are present in the New Orleans music scene.

Amy Shark

From Queensland, Australia is indie pop singer-songwriter Amy Shark. Previously Shark released her debut EP Night Thinker with hit single "Adore". She recently released her first full-length album Love Monster featuring lead single "I Said Hi".

The Carters

New, new but not new. Beyoncé and Jay Z have joined forces for their new album EVERYTHING IS LOVE. The album addresses racism in America, their relationship woes and GRAMMY snubs. This is the album the world has been waiting for since the initial OTR tour.

Cardi B

Cardi B. You've heard of her, she needs no introduction! During the 2017 MTV VMA's she made a statement about Colin Kaepernick before intro-ing a musical guest Leaving an impression on so many. Following her on social media you gain access into her life and learn about what made her who she is.

Phoebe Bridgers

A stunning and effortless sounding voice in Phoebe Bridgers. This indie-pop powerhouse grew up in Pasadena, California and attended a prestigious Los Angeles County High School for the Arts to study music.

Alice Merton

German-Canadian singer-songwriter Alice Merton was born in Frankfurt to German mother and Irish father. Merton's family moved often but much of her adolescence was spent in Ontario, Canada.

Shorter list this year but we’ve got the goods don't worry. Taylor Swift claps back at Kim Kardashian with her latest album Reputation, HAIM has us dancing all day with their new album Something to Tell You and Ed Sheeran is at it AGAIN with his pop hits.
