Meghan, Duchess of Sussex is a retired American actress who became a member of the British royal family upon her marriage to Prince Harry. Markle was born in Los Angeles and is of both African American and Caucasian decent.
Many will recognize her as Rachel Zane from the legal drama TV show Suits. Throughout her life Markle has been outspoken on issues of gender inequality and in her new role as the Duchess of Sussex she is able to focus many of her efforts on humanitarian work.
