Music of 2016
Short and sweet for 2016 hope you like it. Again, this is not a "best of 2016" these are just MY favourite songs from 2016. Enjoy!
Wherever You Go
The Treble // Wherever You Go
Gotta get a local fave in here! This song is honestly just so damn catchy and the lyric video is hella cool and took a lot of work with help from across the world! I should also mention that these guys are a group of super cool dudes. They just signed a record deal so this will be the first of many!
The 1975 // I like it when you sleep, for you are so beautiful yet so unaware of it
Rihanna // ANTI
Til It Happens To You
Lady Gaga // Til It Happens To You
This song breaks me every time. What gives me chills even just thinking about is her Oscars performance of this song. Simply incredible and started a dialogue that is necessary. The Hunting Ground is also a hugely eye-opening watch.
Bird Set Free
Sia // This Is Acting
The Weeknd ft. Daft Punk // Starboy
Drake // Views
Joseph // I'm Alone, No You're Not
Top to Toe
Fenne Lily // Top to Toe - Single
WILD // Vagabond - Single
James Vincent McMorrow // We Move
Your Love Will Blow Me Away When My Heart Aches
Son Little // Son Little
I've said it a few times now and whenever someone mentions Son Little I tell them about the 2016 Winnipeg Folk Fest when I was wondering around the grounds showing my friend (who had never been) around, we sauntered up to one of the stages just meaning to pass by until I heard his stunning voice. I looked at my friend and sat my ass down in the field for a longer listen.
Frances Cone // Arizona - Single
Dustin Tebbutt // The Breach EP
The Lumineers // Cleopatra
All The Pretty Girls
Kaleo // A/B
The Paper Kites // Woodland EP
Chainsmokers ft. Halsey // Closer
This was the soundtrack to my road trip with my sister this past summer. We listened to it at least once every day and, to be honest, I'm still not sick of it.
Beyoncé // LEMONADE
Because "Boy Bye".
Beyoncé // LEMONADE
Beyoncé, as she does, made our jaws drop with this completely out of the blue (main reason I love her). This year is probably when we needed this most (and the next four years to come). This song is important for many reasons, it's empowering, it starts a conversation and well, it's just plain fierce!
